Science is a magnificent force, but it is not a teacher of morals. It can perfect machinery, but it adds no moral restraints to protect society from the misuse of the machine. It can also build gigantic intellectual ships, but it constructs no moral rudders for the control of storm tossed human vessel. It not only fails to supply the spiritual element needed but some of its unproven hypotheses rob the ship of its compass and thus endangers its cargo. In war, science has proven itself an evil genius; it has made war more terrible than it ever was before. Man used to be content to slaughter his fellowmen on a single plane--the earth's surface. Science has taught him to go down into the water and shoot up from below and to go up into the clouds and shoot down from above, thus making the battlefield three times as bloody as it was before; but science does not teach brotherly love. Science has made war so hellish that civilization was about to commit suicide; and now we are told that newly discovered instruments of destruction will make the cruelties of the late war seem trivial in comparison with the cruelties of wars that may come in the future.
The undelivered, summation of William Jennings Bryan at the Scopes 'Monkey' Trial in Dayton, Tennessee 1925.
The same holds true, even in a new century of civilization's misfortunes.

WHO ARE THESE GUYS ?
American Motorcyclist Association AMA has reported that current motorcyclists are slightly older, better-educated and make more money than general U.S. population.
The average rider is 38 ½ years old, married, has attended college and earns around $ 44,100/year. That makes him 4 ½ years older than average American, and $ 7,600/year richer. Three-fourths of today's riders paid for their motorcycles in cash, 91% are males, although the number of female motorcyclists is growing.
Women who ride are more likely to be married (64% vs. 59% for male motorcyclists). They are also older on average (39). Women riders tend to be better educated than men and they have correspondingly higher household incomes than male riders. However, men spend more in motorcycling apparel.
Classic Riders
An important trend to watch is that in the past eight years, the motorcycling population has aged 5 ½ years, probably reflecting the number of baby boomers coming back to motorcycling after raising families. This means that younger riders are not coming to the sport as frequently as older ones, which could generate ramifications for the future. Said that, all this may demonstrate a picture far different from the one that many people - non-riders in particular - may have about today's motorcyclists.

Well, I came across an excellent post on the zx-10r.net forums! It talks about a view point of a long time sportbike rider. Why he modifies his bike for the track, and how far bikes have come over the years in their stock form.

The older you get, the more you notice the speed because you think about the consequences more. For me, that comes from witnessing people killed, maimed, etc. I sold bikes for a living in my twenties, and I sold bikes to people that got tossed. A human being is like a big tomato wrapped in a leather skin.
Life and our bikes hang in a delicate balance of physics, geometry, skill, and luck. I love my bike. I put more and more into it because I enjoy fiddling with it, and making it perform a little better with each mod. But you should never get immune to the risks or the reality of what these bikes can do. I had a 1989 ZX-7.... It was over 100lbs heavier than my ZX-10 and it was 1/2 the horsepower: 89rwhp.
I've been riding sportbikes for over 20 years. So for me, I still remember when sportbikes were literally pigs. The fact that you can buy a bike today that is faster than GP bikes of years gone by is simply amazing. The 1098 Ducati is a twin that delivers 148 rear wheel horsepower STOCK. That is just absurd. This is a great time to ride, and whatever you do, don't get TOO used to the speed. Good skills can make you a lot faster, and a lot safer.
Can you have too much power? Direct thread link. First post says something cool too

Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen for all of your subscriptions and just plain old being a friend! There has been a great rise in new additions to my viewers, and I wish I had the time to thank each and every one personally. But, I'm lazy and working on a new vid... and new videos is what its all about! Well, mostly... they would be pointless without all of you. So thank you and welcome to the channel!
And also, I am sorry for the lack of new content here on the blog. Things are settling down around here, and I am now mostly familiar with my new video editing software. So now I can put more of my energies towards additional new videos and posts on the blog. Yay!
Once again, thank you everyone! Without you all, it would be meaningless!

So... this weekend turned out to be interesting!
Alright, Im gonna get a little geeky on you guys here. Yes, I am sorry for not posting up any new videos this weekend. I hope you can forgive me for this, as my computer kicked the bucket. Well really, it was my Windows XP. I'm suprised that its been this stable, for this long. I attribute it to my maintance and choice of hardware when I built this computer. But, at last... after well, who knows how long(many years) its no more. No attempt to repair its lifeless whirling of spinning hard drive platters helped. And so, a smile ran across my face.
Wait... a smile?!? Shouldn't I be angry or something? "Mwuahaha", says I, as I called a friend to ask for permission to use their Pc for a day. The end result?
Ah, I am glad you asked! Two freshly burned images of "live" cds. Thats right, Linux. Namely Elive and Ubuntu. I'm planning on keeping a dual boot system for awhile, since its been years since I've used any Linux system. If all goes well, I'll be editing and sharing movies... the open source way.
Both Linux Distro's are Debian based. So I should be able to start with my feet running, and from what ive heard (and seen from the live cd) installing linux has become MULTITUDES easier.
Only problem is, that I'm trying to save any recoverable data from my hard drive before I install anything. So far it looks like I can still access gigabytes of information, I think only the operating system was affected. Hard drive was erriticated of any known viruses before hand, and my friends pc is still unaffected.
If all goes well, you can expect to see a new video by wednesday. The topic is motorcycle controls, where I discuss the various things on the motorcycle. After that, hopefully the same day, I'll have the first in a three part series of videos pertaining to catagories of motorcycles. First is going to be the cruiser. Next the sport bike, and finally the standard. Included are many subcatagories in each field. All are part of my new to be released Beginner Motorcycle series. I have to think of a good name for it all.

What topics I plan on tackling this weekend...
Hey whats up! Well, this weekend I am pretty excited about. I plan to tackle the topic of beginning motorcyclists. I hope to discuss, on video, some good tips for beginners and people interested in getting a motorcycle. Also, in addition, I plan on posting up a written article to put more detail on what is in my videos. Hopefully this will work well and I will do this with all my future videos as well.
Also, I would love to hear what you all think about my videos, blogs, and topics discussed. Have suggestions, or want to hear my take on a topic of your choosing? Hit me up through the Personal Message (PM) systems at LiveVideo, youtube, or here.
Take care everyone, and enjoy your weekend! I know I will... first pot of coffee is almost done. Huzzah!
